tasks like taxes and washing himself in the shower so he decided to lock himself in an art studio with
no expectations except that he would not leave.
Just being in the studio alone would have made Stane very sad, and he would have just crawled up in
a little ball and cried for five days, so he decided to invite his friends and artists and bums (not
squatters) to come hang out in the space. But being the fascist artist he is, he used chance
procedures to strictly control the amount of time people were allowed to collaborate.
The Texas Shanesaw Massacre (the original name) was such a success (in his mind) that Stane decided
to do it again this year, but to take it to the next level: to lock himself in a room for five days with a girl.
Thus the name was changed to salient lockup and the location Hollywood. Hoping to attract a variety of
local freaks and artists, this year’s five–day piece has even less expectations than before.
